A friend of mine who works for yamaha runs the gp1200 cable in his roundnose. Its much thicker and he told me they last forever and never break. Might be something to look into. I think he had to cut it back and retap some threads on the end of it.

Buy the roundnose cable - it seems I get them from Parker Yamaha for 76ish bucks.
I wouldn't skimp on that cable: Get OEM.

GASKETS FOR CHAMP BRAP!
I just bought a round nose cable from Parker Yamaha a couple weeks ago. It was like $86 shipped. On their site it says it's a Motion Pro, but when I receive it, it was a WSM. Oh well.. still a nice looking cable and works awesome.

That is right about the roundnose being longer than the square. Longer meaning more throw.. I put a roundnose on my square and gained MAJOR thowage. Way more than the square. I couldnt quite get it all adjusted straight though. My bars barely sit off center with the nozzle perfectly straight. If i were to grind down one end and clean up the threads I could get it perfect, but I dont notice it at all. I'll take all that throw! fock yes!:arms:

It has more throw length(inner cable). Its a night and day difference.
I've always heard that the round had a inch more throw.. Now I believe it! I've never measured it though, but boy can I feel it!
EDIT: I forgot to add that the cable barely bottomed out on the handle pole end and was like about 1/16" from hitting the stop when i turn right. So and took a thin piece of alum and prepped and super glued it to my UMI plate.. or otherwise the cable will eventually break if it doesnt have a stop to butt against. Now it works great.

It seems I have gotten the OEM cable from them for less than that.
