Depends on the setup, I'm a big fan of OEM myself in stock to mild setups.

no problems with either setup

My buddy is on his 3rd set of VF3's. He keep blowing them on his stock SXR. Don't really know why. I am also a stock reed guy.

I talked to him last night and he seems to think it was due to him spraying wd40 on his engine and stuff. Once he quit doing that, he stopped blowing reeds

that's strange!may be it was acting like penetrating oil and contaminating the cf,trouble is i spray my motor before and after i ride as it's the only way to stop the salt eating it!
