Whats the best way to blow 2k on a stock 701?
After i cut uncle sam a big check this spring im lookin to do some bolt ons whats the best route to go? Im thinking b mod, ada head, solas mag, and msd enhancer
lets hear some opinions from people that are more seasoned than myself

appx 1935.00 Thats my opinion. but with 2k you can probably find a 771 or even a jetmaniac bigbore.

I already have footholds so im just looking for drivetrain components and id like to upgrade to a jm or php next winter so anything i can switch over when the time comes is a plus

Magnum pump, ADA head, B Pipe

MSD enhancer and a flow control are cheap add-ons to those. But the first three are the important and more noticeable mods

If you're planning on a bigger motor down the line, you might as well get a PFP at that point.
But if you want to stick with a B-Pipe, the mod is the one to get for a larger motor.

Is the pfp really worth almost twice the price plus running a smaller fuel cell? Im not competing or anything like that so itd be nice to rock a stock fuel cell.

Unless you are looking to do flat water freestyle like flips and rolls off your own setup wake just buy a b pipe. Once they are on and dialed in, it's sort of like a set it and forget it thing.

Those big tricks can be done with a b pipe as well, but for big flat water stuff the trend is very small lightweight boats with giant motors and power factor pipes.

More importantly to answer your original question, what type of riding will you be doing the most of? Chasing boats? Running buoys? Surf? Flat water? Just rec-riding? The answer to this should help determine what mods will work best for your ride style.

If your looking to go PHP or JM next year I wouldn't spend the money on a ADA head. Just have your stock head milled. Spend the extra on a hooker or enhancer

all flatwater no buoys not much boat chasing we have a paddlewheeler that does dinner cruises every day throws a path of 4-6 foot rollers and only goes about 5 mph so generally im just f***ing around

Not to derail this too far into a B-Pipe vs PFP argument, but I tested a B-Mod back to back on my 970cc 10mm motor last year. Huge difference.
I didn't like going to a smaller tank, but the power difference made it very obvious what needed to happen.

so how many gallons did you have to give up

i actually bought a pfp to see the difference (havent installed it yet) but now im selling the entire ski to go to a 1200

I went from a 5 gallon to a 3 gallon tank. With a 1000 motor, that's about all I can handle before needing a break anyhow. Obviously this would not work too well for riding areas that have long approaches
