At all times during the season, there are various electrical probs which sometimes boil down to dodgy battery and earth cables. This will go at least some of the way to preventing a breakdown (which we all know happens on the sunniest/best surf day always)
Tired of the battery / starter cable ends corroding and getting bad earths ? Here is what I have done
1. Buy new ring tags - @ 30pence each
2. Trim cable back around 30-40mm - save the offcut insulation.
3. Use a good torch - tin ends of cable and bucket of ring tag. get a mate to help - you do need 4 hands
4 .Once the solder tag and cable have cooled place the offcut insulation back around the bared cable
5. Then mix and add epoxy two part resin to insulate and seal the cable, across the ring tag - black cable illustrates
6. Finally slide heatshrink over tag and cable - and heatseal - epoxy will go all runny and seal completely the cable and tag -
7. Make sure your cables are correct length and cable tied up so they're not flapping about everywhere, that's alsogotta help
8. his is a cheap fix that will prove reliable and should go some way to preventing breakdowns on the sunniest day of the year
