I have a friend that had the XFT backflip hull, he liked it for backflipping and that is it. He complained that it was too squirrely for doing anything but flips.

I was really happy with the surf performance of my -2" hull in Daytona. I did a lot to help compensate for the shorter hull though (footholds 10" from firewall, and -9" total handlebar location). It's definitely more responsive, but once you get used to it, I don't think I'll ever go back.

So 4 waveriding it still hooks up rather well, not handling issues???

Thanx.

I don't think hookup is the issue. Responsiveness is the issue. Not only does it respond to rider input faster, but the waves move it around a bit more. You just need to be able to compensate for what the waves are doing to the boat.

No he will not!

I thought it was like trying to ride a bike on ice :haha: Not really, but it was the most squirrly boat I have ever been on.......and I could do a barrel roll in about .037 seconds flat :hail: I only did one cuz it made me so dizzy!

We have a new hull from TKo that is 3 inches shorter that has hull extensions that can be install if you didn't like the way it handles. The hull extensions allows you to have options. I'll have more information on these hulls soon.

You definitely spun that sucker quick my man! (Although, my watch showed that it took you 0.042 seconds) :cheer:

Kevin's got the perfect idea with his TKO hull. Right-on Legdrag!!!

that is a really good idea...you should make it so the extensions are removable easily so you could stick em on for surfriding and take them off when you want to hit the lake...mabye glass in some inserts so you can just take some screws out or something

fwiw, thats exactly how the TKO's are set up. get to the beach, screw your extensions on.. get to the lake, take 'em off..

ill keep that in mind if i ever get a am hull which im considering

It would be cool to have the extensions work as trim tabs raising when you grap a hand full of trim. Best of both worlds. Long when riding normal. Short when backfliping.
