i've heard the expresion arm pump so much, but I have no idea what it is? What is arm pump? just tired arms? forearms?

your forearm muscles get soo tense from holding on the bars using the throttle, clutch and brake they feel like they are gonna pop.

its a wicked feeling. the first few hours at the track are hard, especially if its been a while

yep its a terrible feeling, i went out both days this weekend. rode at a practice track by my house and man was i rusty for a while. started to get it back at the end of the rie though...

Arm pump is one of the biggest reasons I quit riding-I can't just relax and race anymore. I get all tensed up worrying about going fast and or crashing fast and it just aint fun anymore, tooooo dammmmm much worrying about what if. Cuz as we all know-it ain't if it's gonna happen, it's, when is it gonna happen. At my age sheit don't heal like it used to and I have become a HUGE puzzy!!!!!!!!

thats how i get a like loretta lynn qualifiers and such, get all worked up, like ohh i gotta get a good start, gotta get over that one jump blah blah. its like you try to psych yourself out haha. just like you said your gonna crash its juts a matter of time, and it happens when you least expect. i was just running a big local race back in sept. running a solid third. next thing i know i wake up and i am on a backboard and cant breath...two punctured lungs 4 broken ribs, crack sternum, and a bunch of internal bleeding. i said i was done. But here i am back on the track....

The best thing about arm pump is that u fix it by riding more.
Imagine if it was the opposit, u have to take a break off from riding. That would be horrible!
Iv learned to get rid of arm pump, and just get faster is to go all out around 90% as fast as you can go for however many laps you can go and just work your way up. Ride as many days a week as u can. This works alot better than doing say 30 laps at around 60%, So when the race comes around you body(and forarms) are used to say 20 minutes of fast pace racing.

also, make sure you gloves arent to tight on your wrists, use you legs to control the bike and dont have a death grip on the bars. I'v also heard potassium helps try eating some bannanas. haha

they even have a surgery to fix this problem, it cuts somthing that restricts your arms from expanding with blood??? not totaly sure about this at all
I dont think you would be interested in this tho haha

They actually cut the veins out of your fore amrs and replace w/fuel line foe better blood flow. Got a buddy that had it done. 10,000.00 elective surgery!!
Must be nice to be rich.

I always used to eat a couple bananas on the way to the races. I don't think I could ever really tell a difference. The only way I found to help get rid of it was to ride ALL the time
