B1 hood strut help!

I have looked and searched but can't find any post on a better way to keep the b1 hood open. My fiberglass in cracking where the support pole mounts. I have seen pictures of b1's with hydraulic rams but can't find a kit or detailed instructions of how to do it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I saw one on ebay a couple weeks ago but its gone. Was like $50-60

I'm also looking for another kit. I have one on my '94 B1 and its the Sh*t!.. Great option to have.

i usually jusr search waveblaster, its hit or miss, they pop up every so often. my old roommate makes/sells a sick stainless kit, but its not as cheap as the ebay kit, but it will last a helluva lot longer and never rust.
