B-1 66e 800cc conversion pics

I want to start a thread on my past 66e conversion because someone asked for some pics , this will let everyone see what not to do as well as mabe what to do . First pic is my simple jig for setting the mounts while the epoxy dried . one pic shows how i mounted my mount to a large alum plate with holes drilled in to allow epoxy to grab on , epoxy with cabosil thickner for the mounts . after the glue set I fiberglassed the plates and epoxy down , to this day it shows no signs cracks / I also glassed the entire hull bottom and side seams just for strength , the hull is plenty strong

after a trial fit on the mounts I could see where the exhaust hit the body on the right side so I dremmeled a hole to make the eng fit and after glassing it and painting the hull nobody can tell it was bumped out about 1/2 inch I always have to show them .

Had to enlarge the bulkhead hole to let the bigger exhaust through , I also had the eng out and in countless times , you have to Roll it in

Water box install / I used a GP800 box and just shortened the neck a little bit, you can see the weld , otherwise it would have never fit / then I cut the back out and stuffed it in and reglassed ., I used the gp800 exhaust hose and finished the exhaust out the right rear of the ski / I would recomend a 760 water box here because I think they fit right down the battery hole with no trouble but with the gp800 box there was no way possible ,I even enlarged the battery opening to try and stuff it but it was impossible . ........I used what I had at the time .

great detailed build cant wait to see more....

Could you have technically used WDK conversion Engine mounts ? to make it fit directly without re-setting engine mounts ?

Im sure you could have used the WDK kit, but since I was reinforcing the sides and complete bottom it cost me only labor and mabe a couple bucks in material / I kept this conversion between $1100 -1300 after selling the gp800 hull with the Idea being a big power increase with stock reliability and no engine work.
