anyone running an analog MSD TL?

IF you have an old analog MSD TL system and now how to check resistance specs with a mulitmeter, and you are willing to help out, let me know.

The plug in modules to set your timing curve are just different valued resistors. They take about 10 seconds to check.

These modules are becoming impossble to find, so i am trying to put together a list of what each module's value is. We could then just wire up the right resistor and set the curves we need. I cut one of my modules open and they are just low tolerance resistors. the 8600RPM module is a 6.7k ohm resistor with 1% tollerance.

I am not asking anyone to cut theres apart, just hook up to a multimeter and check the readings.

why not call msd tech support? i have delt with them for car stuff and thay have been more than happy to help with stuff like that

or try giving TJ a call @ judge motorsports

Does TJ have the modules or the info im lookin for?

You can check all the resistors you want, But that's not the problems these old ignitions have...it's the brain boxes NOT reading the resistor right! It is MANDATORY that you use a timing light to check what the timing curves is doing! (may be right and can be wrong!) and the rev limit chip on some of these ******** boxes would change the CURVE when you changed the limiter chip!
I'm glad I'll never use this crap again as I rebuildt my Race XIR's way to many times from their old anolog MSD junk!
I have a whole drawer full of them, even the stupid tester MSD had for the CDI boxes...

Well its not that i am having problems with my box, just that i am in need of the modules. Once i get those or some sort of replacement then i can move onto having the standard problems associated with these things.

Supertune, i sent you a PM
