As long as you have a bill of sale/ title and the prior registration info. They will do a check to make sure they don't have a lien on them. I spoke with fish and wildlife cause all mine are reg in Fl.. They ignored my questions and kept informing me that anything over 90 days must be reg in NC!!

what about buying New?....would have no prior registration...

The dealer will give you all the paperwork. Buying new is expensive but easy to reg. if you have a title on a used means it has no lien, and just take it with a bill of sale to the fish and wildlife to reg. Then you have to pay them the reg fee and state tax on purchase price..
