I'm talking about out lying areas that can commute to Tampa where new subdivitions can be built. The country area would be a lot cheaper.

Do you have any idea what they get per square foot in that area to build new construction? Or how many houses you can build on an acre?

we put 5 to 6 per acre in/around Houston depending on what the developers want. of course with 6 per, the lots are typically 45x100 or so

I've done some subdivisions that are 2 per acre as well.

it varies a lot. some areas are still 1 per 5 Ac. most are like 5 or 6 per 1 Ac. though. not sure how much it costs per sf in a subdivition. I could find out. A lot of new home buyers are moving into town homes now. they start at 200k (total cost) and fit 9 or 10 per Ac.

Tampa is close to St pete's right? Sounds like that could turn out to be a good investment.
