try mrcrankshaft.com i have had nothing but great experience with him.turnaround is fast and communication top notch.he calls me when he gets the crank to confirm what i want done and then calls again when he ships it back out (usually the next day)

the website only lists atv's but he does everything.he has also gone way out of his way to get a very hard to find rod kit for me!

There is also Wisconsin recreational crankshaft,I haven't used him in a while but Tom Honkanen does excellent work,he worked at the Bombardier rebuild center for many years and had some nice setups on the Seadoo cranks,I remember he had a piece machined to go on the 580-650 Seadoo cranks so that the center gear would not slip off to one side,I was pretty impressed with that piece and never had any problems with anything he ever did for me,top notch work.

I offer crankshaft rebuilds for all models. They are all trued , balanced and welded . Prices are the same as that cranks-r-us web site but with fast turnaround we answer our calls
We usually use wsm rods but can put whatever rods you request (may vary in price depending on rods).
We also rebuild any stroker crank as well

Interesting :scratchchin:

Is says they're using new crank webs, rods and bearings but it's still a rebuilt crank with a core charge.

What parts on the old crank are they using over?

Some of the cranks have the crankpins made into the webs ,on those style cranks only the webs have to be replaced, they are still using the outer webs which have to be made with a hole in them to be able to press them together, the inner webs are replaced.

If just the inner webs are replaced I wonder why the add says: All Yamaha cranks are rebuilt with NEW Crank Webs we don't reuse the old one's unlike our Competitors.

The front crank web has the snout attached and the rear web has the rear bearing mount and thread for the coupler.

The center webs include the lower rod pins and the center bearing pin is probably the only part they would use over.

If they're replacing all the webs, rods and bearings it sure seems like a lot of trouble to disable the crank in labor time for just the center bearing pin.

Okay I believe what they are referring to is this ,some of the crank rebuilders used to turn down the crank pins and put a sleeve over them or they would cut off the pin all together and bore a hole in the web for the new crankpin to press into,as you can tell neither of those was the best idea and once they came out with the replacement webs most reputable companies stopped using those practices.I heard Crankworks say they saved the old non rebuildable webs to make stroker cranks out of though since there was no hole drilled in it to locate the crank pin it was no problem to drill the hole farther out for a stroker crank.

Didnt know where to post this. I'm new here just to post a response to short blocks r us. This guys has had my yamaha 1100 engine and my money going on 4 weeks. His name is Doug and he had my money $1375.00 for just shy of 4 weeks. He said his turn around time was 3-5 days. His first reason was he late was he was busy and he did not have the parts because he rebuilt two 1100's the week before. Ok I understand. So he tells me he will try to get it out by the end of the week. The end of the week comes and goes. No email from him no call. I call him the following week same excuse. He is busy, trying to get it out maybe by Tuesday or Wednesday of that week. Those days came and went no email or call from him with a tracking number. Then I finally get him on the phone he says he will send it out Thursday July 3rd. Thurday July 3rd comes and goes no email no call. Monday July 7th I call at least 4 times. He calls me back and says I didnt check my messages but i had a missed call from this number... I asked him what the deal was since he was supposed to send me my motor July 3rd and I dont have a tracking number. He assured me it was done, packed up and ready to be shipped and it would be shipped that day Monday July 7th 2014. Guess what no tracking number ever came. No email no phone call won't answer his phone. Do not send this guy your motor or your money. He may do good work per other reviews but what difference does it make if you cant get your engine back from him. RUN AWAY FROM SHORT BLOCKS R US. Who know if Ill ever get my engine or money back. Feel like I have been scammed. Please do not give this guy any business he is not a professional and his communication is terrible at best. 3-5 days turn around. what a joke.

be shipped
