Any one try WD $75 "tubbys"?

These aren't even close to tubbies in design. Looks like a piece of plexiglass with a few holes drilled in it.

Now if someone has a set of tubbies for $75 (real or fake) than I'll definitely take them.

From what I've heard they're horrible. Everone always rips them off when they get a new ski that already has them installed. Tubbies have a little lip thing at the bottom that creates an effect that seperates them from other sponsons.

I have some RnD race sponsons that work fairly good, make it about an inch wider in front. $25 plus ship.

Side note, CPR runs these the polycarbonate on his freestyle ski and swears by them, said he had to round the edge a little because they got a little too aggresive in the turns.

the difference is that with tubbies or mine for that matter , are wider and increases the overall with of the front of the ski thus allowing the nose to stay above the water and prevent subbing on hard turns or while carving in the surf.

Compared to Tubbies, just how thick are your's Steve? I am in the market for some and im waiting to see them in Daytona (yours) or at least hear some feedback.

LOL, I remember when those came out, nothing more that a flat sheet of Polycarbonite cut to fit....... Not gonna say that they will not add any improvement but about the same difference as cutting a 1/4" sheet of plywood and gluing to your hull.
Also, there is no way to install those and have them look good. No way to chemically bond them, screws only.........

CPR has had his on for 2 seasons now and they look as good as the day he put them on. You can also see the paint scheme thru them as well, I have ridden that boat and it handles very nice. I'm doing Tubbies since its going to be a dedicated surf ski.

Mine are not as thick as tubbies and maybe not as aggressive . They are on my white boat and anybody is welcomed to try them.

Crab - I think I will pass. Thanks for posting!
No problem, just trying to get rid of stuff collecting dust. One thing I did notice, my ski was a race ski when I got it and did close to 60, it was extremely stable at top speed due to these sponsons, I'm just a puss and hate going over 50mph.

Yeah, I had those R&D sponsons on one of my old race boats. It helped stability at all speeds. It wouldn't do as well as Tubbie's at keeping the nose up in surf. However, I have found that tubbies chine walk pretty bad at certain speeds too and that's annoying to me.
