Hi guys just a quick one, just wondering what types of antiseize people are using to stop those nasty little Bpipe screws from seizing up. I've had to drill them out twice now and its a **** of a job. thanks!

We use it at my place of work we design and build packaging equipment for the pharmaceutical and food industries every thing here is 316 and 304 stainless. We use a food grade anti seize on everything its a must and I also use it on my ski.

If you do a lot of stainless on stainless(bolts and nuts), they gall up the threads if you dont anti-seize them. I learned that the hard way. Escpecially if your trying to tighten bolts fast with a air ratchet, drill, etc..

I havent touched my B pipe screws in like 12 years. I wonder if they will ever come out or loose. Its only been in the salt a few times. I dont even remember if they had grease or anything on them...??

Here is some light reading to give you an idea:

I just skimmed that, but it seemed to mostly deal with carbon steel reacting with stainless alloys, and the conductivity and noble measures of various stanless alloys.

I didnt see anything about antisieze?

I used to heat treat gas turbine parts ( compressor sections of jet engines)
I would fixture them up, and all of the bolts got bathed in milk of magnesia ( generic even , cheaper than antisieze)

these parts would move around alot, growing, and shrinking, and some of the heat cycles went to 1900 degrees.

those bolts always came back out.

IM not sure i ever damaged them by using antiseize on them.

I use Teflon Paste on the pipe screws, it with stands up to 3,000 PSI and 500 degrees F.

: Thanks for the link prem, that marine grade antiseize sounds like a winner, I think I just need to get something that is guaranteed to work, there's nothing worse than a ten min job taking three hours becase of one stubourn little bolt.
thanks for all the feedback guys.biggthumpup:
