well the day has finally come, I was able to talk the wife into letting me do it, and a few months to find one with a title, but I got me a 91 RNSJ! And it was from the original owner too! Its used to be a race ski, but for me its going to be a surf/flatwater toy for me. All I need to do now is put a new bilge pump, and I have a rule 550gph ready to go, and this next winter, I will have to put in some new turf and footwells in and I will be a happy boy!

Also getting ready for the surf I made my own limiting rope, and hood staps. I got the straps some strapworks.com, cut them and made a hole in it, and used the bolts in the dash for everything, and I got two SS black clips and rope for a tow rope velcroed on.....

I replaced the primer and fuel lines, and re routed them, is it ok for the fuel lines to sit on the exhaust tube?

and last for tonight, I made a tow loop out of some SS cable and tubing

Now I am wanting to returf and do footholds, but I am affraind of wet foam, making something easy, into some hard when I want to ride now!

I assume it would be used to tow somebody back to shore in an emergency? I'm none to thrilled about how it is either, might you run one end of the cable to the top then around the bumper to the bottom of the eye? Or better yet if you need to tow somebody but have carabiners one either end of the tow, you could put a bight in the rope, feed it through the stock style eye then clip the carabiner to the bight thus removing any chance of catching something during normal riding, less components to fail this way too.

duh, looks like I put RNSJ for some dumb reason on the first post! any way.......... I took the ski out for the first time to the surf and had a blast, but the ski was taking on water and I couldnt figure out why, turns out the previous own ran a tube from the bilge, right to the pickup without making a loop and drilling a hole in it. So looks like I am going to make a tube go up to the ebox, and drill a small hole in the tube. I also got my foot holds in too! I will get some pics up soon

I also need to find a new spring for this pole, it sits inside the pole, but it almost looks like a 550 style one that has a long bar on there, not like the one on the blowsion website that just has the two tabs coming out. I need to just take a better pic

well I am finally getting started with the foot holds. I removed my turf today so now its time to get ready to cut!

Also, would it be beneficial to put some small drains in the tray to drain any water that might ever get in there?

your limiting rope looks a bit too long, your pull shouldn go all the way to the locking positon, when its hooked up

I have to fight it to get to that point, and after that I have another 10 degrees before the pole can max out, but I will look into it

Here are the holds in there holes, now I just need to get them in! I am very suprised to find I had very dry foam, and a wire wheel works wonders on removing the stuff

well today went well, Speleopower came over and helped me out getting the holds in. they fit ok, and the rivets didnt work out to well, so in the middle of our mix we had to switch to screws to pull it in, but overall I am happy. Now I need to get them sanded down and ready to foam and put some more glass down.

I also got my new SS pissers in, and ran them up to the nose. The previous owner had it all the way back in the tray where you couldnt see it, and most of the time was under the water, now I plugged up the hole with a aluminum plate 5200 on the inside, and epoxy on the outside.

I also picked up this sweet ATV and rims from the trash and yard sale, I think I am going to get my welding buddy o weld something up fore me to make a rust away beach cart.
