I have a little experence with glass enough to make me dangerous

Any pointers would be great

When I did my carbon fiber, I made a pattern for my sides out of newspaper. Then I taped with masking tape around the edge of the pattern on my c/f. I then took my scissors and cut the tape leaving about 1/8" all the way around the outside perimeter. I left the 1/8" tape line all the way around the outside edge and just placed that side down against the hull. It worked really good to keep it from fraying.
You will want some good scissors.
