Am I going to need maint. work??

I "sold" my ski to my friend and was letting him take over payments. Well about a few weeks ago he told me that he couldnt afford it anymore so I took it back. And I asked him if he had it winterized. He told me no. Now the last time he used it he told me that he ran it till the ski ran out of gas. So the tank is empty and hopefully there is no remaining fuel in the motor. Do you think I'm going to have to do some major maintenance on the ski before this coming summer? I'm a little nervous about the carbs being gunked up. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Does it freeze much in Austin? If it was left outside and it froze for any length of time you might have issues. I wouldnt worry about the fuel going bad in the carbs over the winter. Fuel accually stays good for a while.

Fuel her up
spray foggin oil into the spark plug holes to lube up the cylinders and crank her up.
Then see how she runs- should be OK

Tell your friend that if he's going to be financing under your name, to at least take care of the ski. Good to see he paid it through the winter and didn't just rent it for a few summer and fall months.

Yea, i was pretty pissed off that he didnt winterize it. And you guys are right. It didnt even freeze here this winter. And the ski has been in my friends garage all through last summer and winter. It hasnt spent a day outside since last summer. Ok....thanks you very much for the comments. I'll spray some fogging oil in there and start it up.
