Im puttin the superjet back together now, and I'm ready to put my pump back in. Im wondering if I have to align the pump, and if I need an alignment tool. I know when I took it off there were shims on the pump, but now it's painted and I don't know if I need the shims, but how would I know its not aligned correctly?
If I just install it, will I run into any problems down the road?
Is there any way to align it without buying a tool?
Also, I know I need to slap some grease on the splines when I put it back in, am I ok just throing some marine grease on there like the stuff I use in my trailer bearings?
