SX/SXi/SXi Pro Air flow questions for sxi pro intake

Okay I have sxi pro and I was wondering (which goes for anyone with a ski) tried using a "snorkel" type set up to run off the velocity stack of the carb to somewhere else in the engine away from splashing water .i had a quick system set up but I think the street 90 (PVC) to regular 90 was too quick of a 180 degree and choked the motor when I took it out .this was before I had a pre filter water resist cover .i was trying to flip the air filter down that way if water did get on it id have a chance for it to bead off instead of suck in.never got it to work but was wondering if anyone else has using thicker pipe or something .im not having as much trouble with the pre filter now but when I do subs or wad on my barrels it does .my hood air inducts are the number one cause I know that though .
Question 2 how good do frogskinz work ?
-Thanks !

And if anyone is wondering I'm new to this site ,came from pwctoday .i ride out in Southern California .lake Elsinore ,backside canyon lake, sometimes up in Ventura surf which is kinda far though, want to hit up ocean side but I'm more into flatwater riding ,and Colorado river way down south in palo verde 39 miles from glamis .anyone way down there past Blythe ?

I use the frogskinz on top of my breather hoses inside the hood. they help but dont keep the water out completely. I have been trying to battle the water in the engine compartment too, it sucks. I need to put my gopro in the hull and see where the water is coming in at. Have you done all the easy fixes to the hood? like close off the front intake and open both rears completely? that is a huge help over stock.

love your 750 build i went through it a couple of times to get ideas and what not .nice ride! thats a good idea with the go pro to see where the water is coming in from..no i know it doesnt have that done i havent done anything to it since i bought it last year. but my hood is cut inside where the tubes were suppose to be so the water is just falling from the top of the hood to where ever it may go. i know thats a problem i want to do my hood like yours.you think a blowsion hood is worth the money on craigslist for 175 or i should just gut the one i have to set it up like yours

Blowsion dosent sell the liners anymore, if you could get one for 175 Id do it. I just cut mine up and made my own liner. It was easy and didnt take that long. It was also my first time fiberglasing. If you need anymore pics I can send them, I took some along the way.

Well it's an as on Craigslist for a 750 listed as a complete blowsion hood but I emailed the guy and he said its 20 pounds so I figured that's about the same as a stock one which isn't worth it .if you could send some pictures over then that would be awesome I'm going to start on it soon .i scored an extra hood recently to practice on !

This is where it started and what I wound up with, I used three intake tubes in the end just to be safe.

I tried to buy the blowsion hood liner they list on their site but they said the mold was defective or lost and they quite making them. Like you said, at 20 lbs its prob not worth it though. Mine came out at 16 I think. started at 21. Foam was soaked.

Yea, the black is just the paint after I finished it up. I cut everything I could including the center part that bonds to the outer layer, that part was tricky to say the least. I left the rear area there to help make a airbox. Its important to have some area there so you can direct the air/water to where you want it. It also helps with support and flotation.
On the next hood try to leave the rear section there so all you have to do is close the front of it off and add your tubes. Dont forget to open up those rear intake too since that will be the only place to get air in when your done.
