I JUST GOT DONE BUILDING THE 760 ONE LAST TIME WITH THE NEW HOT RODS CRANK. I HAVE IT HOOKED UP TO AN INDUSTRIAL TWIN SCREW AIR COMPRESSOR, I WILL LEAVE IT AT 1500 PSI FOR AT LEAST TWO WEEKS, IF IT LOSES A HALF OF A POUND, I'M TAKING IT DOWN AGAIN...................GOD KNOWS I NEED MORE PRACTICE:biggrin: SERIOUSLY..........IF IT DOESN'T WORK NOW WITH ALL THE NEW PARTS........................F-IT...............I'M KICKING THE HOOD OFF BY THE DAM AND LAYING IT TO REST IN 30FT OF BROWN WATER:banghead:

We have been up and down the entire spectrum of jets, n&s, two different sets of carbs, blah blah, yada yada. The consciences is the intermediate shaft bearing. Since its been on the boat since it was new in 94 and has more miles on it than the space shuttle. I tore it down yesterday and it would hardly even move. Thanks for the carb specs Butch, I will put that setup in it and see how it works with the new bearing:biggthumpup:

Bob, If you problem isn't the shaft assembly...Overproping can do this also if the porting is too agressive against the compression ratio. I have had motors do that before...One thing to try is... pressure check the motor, use 9 lbs for 3 mins, if you dont see any pressure loss, pressure check the cooling system in the motor, use 15 lbs for this and see if you have any loss there. My sure you have a good waterbox too, a broken one will act like this. Next is the carbs, keep raising the pop off with the needle and spring combo...Pm me with your phone # and when is the best time to call you and I'll see it I can get you sorted out.
