advent ignition with MSD flywheel

D-Roc

I forgot!
what would the air gap have to do with it working? i would think the msd flywheel and pickup are better, you would just need to have the pickup in the same place as the stock pickup to get the timing correct. using the msd brain allows you to compensate the static timing but the advent doesn't i had the advent on my sxi and i used it as a TL and i had problems with it. first i removed the stator and charging magnets and ran it but it would stall out if i blipped the throttle too much. i then thought the flywheel was out of balance and vibrating making the air gap to big at certain rpms and if it did not get the signal from the flywheel it just cut out the spark and motor. then i put a new stock flywheel on and it was a little better but still did it. eventually put the stock cdi and stator back in and it was fine, man i will never buy another advent again because of this and never really figured out why it did it.
