About to paint. Have a few questions

I am currently doing my first build. Next step is to have the ski painted as the cylinders and crankcase are being ported. I have my ski pretty much stripped down. First question should I remove the gunwales for painting? The second is can I remove the exhaust trim piece and re install it from outside the hull? I was assuming I could drill rivets pull it and rivet it back after painting. Is there anything I am missing? What are people using as a sealant replacing it? Thanks for any help.

Nick I would definitely remove the gunwals all the way around for paint. The ring at the exhaust outlet is actually press fit to the exhaust pipe in the tray so you won't be able to pull it off even of you drill the rivets. Best bet is to tape it off and sand around it as best as possible with a foam sanding block.
