98 gp800

so I picked up a 98 gp800 with 172hrs. All beside the previous owner having the wrong plugs and it fouling out all the time it seems to ride awesome Pretty much perfect. Is there anything recommended to change or upgrade to prevent future issue? Yes I replaced the plugs with the correct ones.

Make sure your oil feed lines on carb are secured. I had a 800 years ago and had this issue and lost the engine.

I think you can do wave eater clips too which is a good preventive measure as well.

oil lines and either wave eater power valve clips or updated power valves by sbt or ( r&D now out of business but they had good billet alum ones). The only way to 100% protect you on the power valves is to get new ones. Even the OEM yamaha ones only solved the head breaking but not the shaft. Other than that keep it stock and you will be good to go. i believe i have a new set of update power valves and used wave eater clips. pm me if interested.
