I took my water box out. First time in twenty years. ( The only part I haven't touched) It rattles! There"s piece of metal inside flopping around. Is there some kind of metal flapper in there or is a piece broken off? Thanks

What you hear rattling around is the baffle. You would have to cut it open in order to fix it.

Regrettably, Yam did worse than a crappy job welding the inside baffle. They often break loose. I've cut them open before and rewelded. That's a lot of work- since you also have to clean it very (!) well before you can weld it. Found an easier way: new box from Factory Pipe. - they don't fail! Regrettably, FP stopped selling them 3 years ago (according to Cindy) and now Blowsion has an identical looking box.
