1996 superjet
So I bought these holds from Tom in Havasu last year and just now got around to putting them in. Thanks Tom I think they look and feel great so far. I started by cuting it our and removing most of the foam. Then fitted in the new holds. I riveted the bottem of the holds.
I used 4lb foam and refoamed (that was a lot of fun, no joke) then shaped the foam and sanded to match.
I ran filler along all the joints
Then i took 12oz biax strips around all the edges and moulded it to the tray
Then put 3 layers in the tray running a weave pattern.
Then another layer on the seems and rails.
Then i sanded and filled with filler in the needed places.
Now I need to sand and repaint. Im decided to change the color sence I am going though all this trouble. I am going racecar red with a white speed strip (that should make it go faster) and black pinstriping. Lets hope my hands are still up for it. Just ordered my new mat. Diamond Cut black marbel. So if all goes well Im ready for the summer in a week and a half. Ill post more picture as I get it put back together.
