both will run with minor work. one only needs a battery and the other needs a starter and battery. what do yall think each are worth? always been fresh water ski's and look clean.. a buddy of mine has them sitting in his garage and i cant decide what to offer him for one.

How are these on reliability and how do they ride stock compared to a rn sj? i'm much more familiar with yamaha's, but i'm lookin for a good deal on a cheap second ski

I started off on 440s all through school, then in 95, my dad brought home a brand new 94 750sx. Wow what a difference. I loved riding that, but it was his and I was still stuck with the 440. Now I have a SN. I find the sx's ride better stock. They are a bit heavier (or at lease feel like it), but have way more power than my SN 650. I've heard they had more power than a stock 701 as well. I think they are perfect for a second ski for guests and to play around on when your's is down. They are oil injected, so you'll either have to convert it, or have 2 different fuel jugs.

As far as price. I really can't help you much. I have seen them on CL still going for over $2000. I'll bet most people here are going to tell you $12-1400max for a good one. IDK? Seems skis are more expensive where I live cause the prices on here and the prices on the local CL are way different.

EDIT-nokfir beat me too it, wow $700? I'd buy it in a heart beat for that, especially the one only needing a battery. Up here, $700 gets you a non-running beat-to-$hit ski.

Well for the record, I couldn't sell a 92 750sx for $2k with a pipe, total loss, prop, aluminum handlepole, porting, etc. The mods alone totaled almost $2k. However, in general, if I can't hear it run, I wouldn't buy it for more than $500. Friend or not...if it doesn't turn over, you have no guarantee that it's the starter and not the e-box, seized engine, broken flywheel/stator, etc.

I'm jealous of the deals you guys can get Here's every 750 I could find in almost 300 miles. That's most of the problem up here, not enough to choose from.

96 few mods $2800

95 mostly stock $2495

94 heavily modded $2900

98 stock w/trailer $4950

98 few mods $2700

94 few mods custom paint $1750

I'd have to admit, the jetski deals there are probably more scarce because it's too flippin' cold all year. I wouldn't be jetskiing if the average highs during the summer were in only in the 70's. 70 air temp and 50 water temp is when I usually crank up the season and that's just because I'm itching and not because it's comfortable.

Not running is not running.

Battery, starter, crank bearings, zero compression, seized, electrical box, etc. Dead is dead and only worth dead.

Every fool with a non-running ski says, "all it needs is a battery."
