Super Jet 91 sn sj problems, need help

Ok well first the starting issue, when In order to start the ski most the time I have to hit the button repeatedly and it will just make a click noise from the starter for about the first 4. Or 5 times then turn over, what could be causeing this and how can I fix it, I just put a new battery in it so I know its not that or the connections to the battery, it doesnt do it as often with the new battery but still does it occasionally

Ok now for the steering problem, I have to keep the bars turned alil to the right to keep the ski straight , I've looked at the steering cable, it looks alil beat up its the original cable, could this be causing the steering issue?

The steering cable needs to be adjusted via the ends that connect to the nozzle and the turnplate.

The starting issue could be:
A bad ground, or positive connection at the wires on the battery or starter.(did you clean the ends?)
Or A starter on its way out
Lastly, a starter relay on its way out.

cleaned the ends on the battery end but not starter end will try that, hope its not the last 2 dont really have the cash to replace the starter or the relay right now

and on the steering, there is more room to adjust the end at the turn plate but it wont turn no more for some reason it keeps wanting to bind up

you have to adjust both ends to get it lined up correctly. If the cable binds before you hit the steering stop you will break the cable in short time.

i can hit stop without it binding, i was referring to when your adjusting the ends the end at the plate doesnt wanna tighten anymore even though theres about a 3/4 of a inch of thread left, but the end at the pump is all the way tightened

sounds like the threads on the cable are effed then. Can you pull the barrel off the end of the cable and run a die over the threads to clean them up?

sure or a very thin file and a lot of patience. pull the end off and take a close look at the threads. make sure to clean it well and re-grease before re-assembling.

there is a small 8mm nut behind it that you have to loosen first. Its easy to loosen it if you leave the barrel end connected to the ball.

ok will most likly do this when i get off work tomorrow its supposed to be in the 80s this weekend deffinitly going out and would like to have this resolved by then, could there be any other reasons to why its not letting me tighten the barrel all the way? or why the steering could be off cause by the looks of it when i staighten the jet out even tightening the barrel wouldnt get it fully straight

not sure without looking at it. for my ski to track straight, the nozzle is slightly to the left with the bars dead straight while on the trailer or shop cart.

It's trial and error with adjusting cables. I usually get them close in the garage then get them dialed in at the ramp.

thats how mine is its slightly to the left with the bars straight but yet mine doesnt track stright at all, if i cnt figure it out im prolly gonna just order a new cable in a week or 2 since it needs one anyways
