Hello everyone I just picked up 2 skis about a week ago an 86 87 Kawasaki JS550 and trailer. Was really cheap so I know theres a long road ahead to get them seaworthy. Bought them from a guy who just wanted them gone. Did not do a compression check, they started up... ran for a while. All I really needed to hear. Both are pretty much stock, both have after-market flame arrestors the 87 has a high comp head, other than that nothing special. I will be doing a compression check tomorrow. Pictures will be up tomorrow too.

. Compression was good ill have more pictures soon.. if my email would get them... Started up the 87 after several tries, power tune did the trick had it running for a good bit need to take it out soon. 86 However is having some trouble, will start and crap out a few seconds after I used a primer bulb to keep it going... dumped fuel down the intake and it was going good. Tried some power tune nothing changed going to find me a rebuild kit. Ive started the task of ripping off all the annoying old decals. Definitely going to paint the skis was wondering if I should use gel-coat or paint.... I don't like paint cause if you scratch it.... its a long process to fix. Gel-coat is so forgiving. Id like Duratex but thats just wishful thinking. Well thats all i got for today will update soon.
