8 Mill Jetworks ADA Stroker 951

Well it's coming together . Did my reinforcement last weekend .I just decided to do the sides and use a heavy backing plate under the handle pole area. 48 black jacks came in along with some other goody's from Art . I picked up a XFT X-9 hood (odd color ,but who cares it will be rattled canned any way).

pic 2 DAMN IT (epoxy kicked real fast) do yourself a favor put the epoxy in a flat cookie sheet instead of a large mixing cup it will give you waaaaay more time to apply. I got glass down and at the mid way point it kicked . If this happens do not hesitate you can't stop it.........just say &^(*&^*& rip it out and start over with a new batch of epoxy and new cloth.

Pic 3 and 4 " The save "

It came out well for my first one. I'll do the hood lip with some 6 oz 2" inch tape. The biax was just a little cumbersome to deal with due to the tight bends.

Nice clean job. I knew you could do it. Sorry I missed your call last weekend.

Thanks Shane ............ the answer is 15 oz . Hey I'll be down your way next week. I left the gas fill .....and I owe you 30 bucks. As long as I keep reminding you because it makes me feel responsible and less like a dead beat .

I was really insulted when my wife came down to the basement looked at the ski and said " You do know..... that those colors don't go together..... don't you " . I replied, "you are absolutely wrong day glow green is an outstanding color that really ties the black and red together" WOMEN what do they know about fashion. This color scheme is all the rage in Europe .

Rides really well. Thanks for coming down and letting us ride it. The engine is pretty too. I'm curious what happened to your turf though. I just thought you hadn't gotten around to turfing it but it looks like you took it off.

sweet ski with plenty-o-power. real nice setup. i didn't get to check out the engine bay when you had it here. post some pics of the finished product.

Well i guess i'll chime in .

Motor :

I'm very excited about my Jet works 951 . I truly believe this motor strikes the balance with power, simplicity, and integrity . All the parts on this motor are off the shelf nothing is made special . No power valves , no special pistons , Kaw rods , Mod b pipe , ADA head with regular ADA domes. I love this approach to motor building (very easy for the end user ). The build was free ride build very conservative with 185 psi . The porting was aggressive but not extreme . Certainly enough to make a very powerful predictable ski . All in all a fantastic platform with room to grow. Add a little more aggressive porting , full race gas and compression and stand by . Will it stomp all the other builders in the 1000 cc class ? I could not tell you and neither could they. The devil is in the details and it is impossible to compare apples to apples as every set up is different . Everyone knows a little here a little there makes the whole package . I'll just say working with Art has been a pleasure and i'm completely satisfied with all the aspects of this his motor , set up and service . I drank his crazy Mexican kool-aid and he's the horse I'm betting on.

Set up :

Real easy... just set every thing the way Art says to . Everyone knows how finicky Black jack carbs are right . Art selected the pop off, jets etc. we set the high and low speed x turns and .........that was it . 8 tanks and I have not touched them . The prop he selected was almost perfect , he did have to tweak it a little. Of course I'll keep playing around with the pipe screws and nozzle just to see (cuz... that's what we do ) even tho they seem to run out best ... where he told me to set them.

Thanks to :

I owe Crammit big time . He help me out immensely . Many late night phone sessions and even showed his hospitality by inviting me to his home for marathon sessions in the sensory depravation chamber ( his shop). Last , but not least our very own Gill , just for being a shoulder to lean on . you just call out my name.... and you know where ever i am.... O so sappy

i'm in the Atlanta area and don't mind test rides . if anyone would like to try it out we can arrange it you can decide for your self.

Here's is a few shots of the motor etc. I need to decide what to do with the foot holds. I really like the xft x-3's ( comfy ), but I'm real stretched out. It feels like I need to a few inches forward. i have heard this complaint from most of the people who have them. It will be a real pain to move them so i may just try to adjust .

Just take some time to get used to them. Pretty soon you won't want to ride in any other foot holds.
