750 snapped flywheel bolt

So my freinds 750 had an airleak causing the ski to rev up to wide open. What I think happened was that bendix never dropped back after the ski started and it couldn't keep up with the ski running wfo. Snapped the flywheel bolt. Upon examination of the bendix, both pieces are stuck and won't go together.

Any ideas how to fix this? Pull the motor and drill the bolt out in the press?

Find a shop that does EDM machining, they can get it out.

Does my idea of what might have happened sound about right? What might cause a flywheel bolt to snap?
