701 superjet temp. help

hey guys. just fished rebuilding my yamaha superjet, and finally got to take it out this weekend. i am concerned about how hot it seems to be running, i constantly put my hand up the pisser to feel the water temp and not sure if it should be this hot or it could just be normal. also every once in a while this weekend in havasu the jetski would randomly shut off and one time it was running and idling fine, but when i gave it gas it wouldn't go more than 5 mph and did a weird sound almost like a super slow rev limit and went away after i let it sit for a few minutes. does that have to do with the temp sensor on the head? and how hot should the water coming out the pisser be just feeling wise? i could not have my finger under it for even 1 second without it being burning hot. any help appreciated, thanks..... also it does have a b pipe with the jet maniac b pipe carb jetting kit.

water out of the pisser is usally 140*
If its maxing rpm its going into limp mode, which means its overheating.
it could be running lean or the cooling could be plugged. You want a solid stream of water much like a garden hose at idle. Pull the plugs and post a picture of them also.

it seems to run on the rich side but heres the plugs, but i will defiantly check all the cooling lines because when it is in the water at idle there is not a steady stream of water, about half air, but thats only at idle. on the hose the stream is fine though

yes it looks very rich, so you probably have a leak in the cooling or a plugged line. flush them all from pump to pisser and make sure all water passages are free and clear. That would cause everything you have described to happen.

Get some temp stickers from mcmastercarr. You want the cylinders around 120-130 and the chamber around 175-200.
