701 head sealing

Hey all,
I've got a bone stock 61x and I'm looking to bump the compression up a bit. I like the ADA full girdle heads, bit I was readimg a groupk article about how the 701 sleeves dropping a few thousandths in the cylinder and causing problems with the o-rings sealing. Has anyone had this problem? Would I be able to just remove my stock head and slap an aftermarket one on without any cylinder decking or would I be better off having my stock head milled and using a half girdle? Thanks.

Group k was very conservative on their builds from that old write up.. Look at the super stock 781 its still using a stock cdi rev limit mod at 105 octane compression. You need at least an enhancer at over 200 psi. You will not have any trouble if you torque the head down correctly and there aren't any major issues with the surface of the head and cylinder, assuming the oring is held in place with marine grease. I run over 200 psi with a girdled ada head flat out. Only time it ever blew an o ring was when I had a stick jam up the prop one time.
