701 Crank bearing locator pins

Guys,

I'm in the process of putting my engine back together, but noticed that some of the crank bearing locator pins seems to be flush with the case, does this seem normal? They are not broken off in any way, but I would have thought that even when seated properly, they would be protruding enough to locate the bearing.

When I last had the engine built, this was obviously the case, as I can see a feint mark on one of the bearings where the pin has been sitting against it (not in the locator hole)

Is there any way to pull these pins out a little bit, or enough to stop the bearings from spinning? I was thinking about a sticking it in the freezer, or getting a little bit of heat onto it, as I'm sure they won't come out easily.

Thanks,

Leigh

they are soposed to stick out a bit. thats the whole purpose of them. i dont know what could of happened to them to make them push back down in the case unless the crank was not installed properly on the pins. you got me...
