701 61x Info

Hey Everyone,
Hope your all doing well,
Just a couple questions avout the 701 61x block.
So my X2 is on hold right now due to buying a carbon stand up setup. So i have the 61x bottom end with a good crank laying around.
So my questions are,
1) can i make my 61x 701 into a sweet freestyle motor or should i try get ahold of a 62t bottom end instead.
2) is there a cylinder pot kit to take it up in cc to say an 800? Or bigger than 701.
3) if there are cylinder kits who sells them.
Basically wanna see if i can do something with this 61x bottom end and crank i have or if i should build it to stock and sell it on for a 62t to build up.

61x motors are great and make good power. However, you will get more power out of the 62t motor and have a good base to work from to get the power you will eventually want. Having said that, the 701 crank is the same for 61x and 62t cases so you can just find a good set of 62t cases and build it up from there.

You will see a lot of guys with their 61x/62t motors. 61x cylinder, supposedly mildly better port timing for low end, and 62t cases for better flow, bigger Reed setup. Ideal setup.

Having said that I have a full 61x on a ski now that I ride 100% of the time, it has all the mods, and it is a strong motor. Plenty of surf power, might be different if I wanted to flip it flat water, but a good rider could still do it I think. I have been waiting for a time to switch to 62t cases, but it's been super reliable and haven't felt the need. After owning many combos over years, a 61x with aggressive porting, 210+ compression, 46 single carb, light flywheel and proper pipe (I run a speedwerx freeride pipe) hits the easy/powerful spot for me.
