66e Reed valve plate porting?

Morning all,

I was wondering if anyone had any information on if opening up the holes in the gp800 factory reed plate to match my intake manifold. is worth doing? or if that's a specific sized for some reason?

The holes are 48mm definitely feel like it's acting more as a restrictor plate

Plate is only used with the oem sidedraft carbs. Remove if using different manifold
