650x2 750ss carb swap?

So I have a 1989 650 x2 and it would never run right. the stock carb was leaking fuel out of the side. So I bought a carb kit and put it together and It still ran poorly. So I went and got the carb off of my 750 ss and it bolted on and ran good out of the water. Not sure if anyone has done that if so I’d love to know if I’ll mess anything up by doing so

Well yes it will run on the trailer but the jetting is going to be way off, which you will quickly find out once you put it in the water , if you change out the jets it would work. Looks like a 150 main jet and an 82 pilot jet , the stock 750 carb has a 160 main jet and a 78 pilot, so it will depend on what other mods you have on your ski.

Oh ok yea I figured that I’d have to mess with the jets but I don’t have any other engine mods it’s stock

Well the nice thing about it is you have known jetting specs that will work on a stock engine.
