650/X-2 650sx with a zxi900 or 1100??

I'm toying around the idea of putting a 900 or 1100 zxi engine in my 650sx. Just wondering if anyone else has done this and what it took to do so, or if it's just a bad idea b/c of the weight transfer. Also, i know there are plenty of 1100 x2 build threads out there to get info from as I searched around to know that i would need to do something with the driveshaft, either lengthen the stock one or shorten a x2 shaft, but i am not sure as it is probably just a little different than the x2. A engine side coupler from a 900 if using a 1100 engine. And for a bed plate i have seen Rad Dudes offers one or you can just mod a stock bed plate. I noticed the big issue was that with the 1100's, the exhaust either hit the hull and you would need some 900 exhaust parts. On Special FX's build thread, he used a 900 and a B-pipe with a adapter which seemed to worke great, and seemed to be a pretty straight forward install. The engine that is currently in my ski is a PJS viper 9000. How much more improvement would I see? I have a 300sx that i would like to put that PJS engine into as the thought of either of the two bigger engines would be to much weight? correct me if i am wrong b/c i am somewhat new to to most of this but i still can find my way around a ski. Thanks for any info.

If people can fit an 1100 in a X2, you can most certainly fit one into a SX. The problem is that the SX handles like :):):):) and there is no novelty in the 650sx like there is the X2. The X2 is special and one of a kind. The Sj (both), 750sx and SXR all handle far better than the SX. There is no reason to put that much motor into that hull unless you have money to blow on a novelty. You will have to mod that hull so much to keep up with the SXRs that there is no reason for it.

I'm not one to say you are wasting your time. Pursue whatever dream you have. Just realize your barriers in handling, and that you will do a lot of extra work to have less performance (not talking horsepower).

what kind of modding and/or what is involved in putting a 900 in an x2?
