650/X-2 650sx problem?

im new to the sport and my 89 650sx runs decent in quarter to half throttle then when i give it more than half throttle it sputters and slows down, then sputters around for a few seconds then takes off again until i give it alot of throttle.. i thought it was my high speed adjustment but adjusting that didnt do anything.. does anyone have any idea what it could be?

my guess was that it was going to be you're highspeed as well. did you adjust it in both directions?

yes thats what i thought and i adjusted both ways and it didnt make a big difference, if i knew the size and model of my carb i could look up the settings because im sure they are way off
