650/X-2 650sx/701 conversion

I bought a 650sx two years ago to get into the sport and it looks like it needs to be rebuilt this winter. The crank has some play, compression is low and the pistons look pretty rough. So I was originally thinking about getting the engine ported, honed, new pistons and rings along with a couple other things but was wondering what it would take if I were to convert it to a 701 or 760. I was looking at buying a rebuilt one from shopsbt or something. I plan on eventually getting a superjet hull I just won't be able to afford it this winter. What am I going to need to convert and do you think it's worth it? Or should I just rebuid the 650. I figure I'm going get more out of a stock 701 then I would out of a 650.
 
I was kind of set on getting a RN eventually even though the bottom decks are the same What do you think the conversion would end up costing? Superjets don't come cheap in jersey either
