300/440/550 650 Kawasaki bendix question

Hi, i am rebuilding my Kawasaki 650 motor for my x2.

I have just put in a new bendix, Should there be a washer that goes on the front cover end of the bendix?

on the engine side of the bendix there is a very thin washer

no washer in the front. can't remember if the kawi has the small washer andspring in the front cover though. i think its just the brass fitting/bushing

Some have a washer. It is basically a shimm for getting rid of slop from front to rear. Mike
