I have found a great deal on a 64x out of a Raider to install into my B1. The stock 64x exhaust wont work due to its size and the outlet. I am building this on a tight budget and have a several 61x stock exhaust and heads laying around in my parts inventory. Can I install a 61x head and run the 61x exhaust on this to get the ski in running condition?

I've done it before. Yes, it's possible.
The exhaust manifold bolt holes are for M10 bolts though, whereas the 61X manifold uses M8 bolts. Use bushings I guess.
There will be a slight port mismatch when you use the 61X manifold.
Watch the headgasket and make sure the water passages still allow water into the passages of the 61X head. Best to use the right gasket for the head.

the 64x cyl. uses 10-1.25mm fasteners, your B1 8-1.25 for the exhaust manifold. You can buy eight 8-1.25 helicoil inserts to reduce the hole size. they happen to fit right in without drilling or tapping (about $29 for the kit at auto stores). Take a new exhaust gasket which fits your new cylinder and superimpose it on your original manifold. mark it with a laundry marker and then "dremel " it. 64x cylinder means it's a 760 engine , 84mm bore. your B1 is /was 81mm. the head should be machined for the larger bore for proper efficiency. you cannot use the 64x head because the exhaust bracket bosses are not in the right place, other then that, you'll be just fine with the stock 61x exhaust.
