Super Jet 61x intake questions ?

Looking to build up another 61x-61x setup . Searching round the inter web I've found people like the wetjet mani . Why exactly ?
Also found talk of taking 4 mm off the bottom of the mani plate to give better "hit" off the bottom is this a good mod ?
Anything else ?
im currently running 61x set up with carbon reeds , 46 Sbn, and a top end port .going to take it further with the next engine still under 800 cc though .

Ask SpecialFX. He milled the bottom of a wet jet 61x mani and I'm pretty sure he said he wasted a perfectly good mani

I run a 765 61x cylinder on a 61x bottom with a 46 carb and same intake as you. The best hit I got mod wise was an EPIC ignition and a FlashFX curve. I'm super happy with my ski for only running 175lbs of compression and it hits hard

I'm running msd , am head with a little more compression than you . Power is lovely an smooth. More power than some ported 62 t engines I've ridden . Im very happy with it . Just doing this as another engine. I know what we can do as far as porting cases and cylinders, just the intake really . I know no matter what thet won't flow like a 62t but what can be done ? I only have stock mani .
 
I use the wetjet manifold on all my 61x motors. Its nothing magic, but it has reed stuffers builit in and has better runner flow than the stock manifold. I have not tried taking the 4mm off of a stock manifold, but I know Group K does that mod and says it helps.

I have tried taking 3mm off the top of a wetjet manifold, but it didn't seem to make any difference, good or bad.
