Basically i have a stock carb setup right now and am thinkin getting somthng different. Group K recommended the 42mm, but that has since been discontinued and they said this about the 44:
We have not done any 44Mik testing to date...but it's on our list. The 44s have a very weak 70% signal that stands to be a potential tuning problem (especially on the smaller displacement 80mm 750 motors) so inlet manifold interior volume will be very important. As the cylinder bores get bigger, the weak signal issues become less of a problem.

I asked if it was the same for the 550 and he said yes. How much of a difference is it between stock, and is it an important mod?
Thanks..

well i had a round body bn44 on before. I could not get it tuned right. then i got the adapter plate and put on a sbn44. much better. much easier to tune. what carb do you have on there now and what mods do you have? mine does pretty good with pipe.

to tell you the truth, i really dont know. it's one of those deals where i got this POS ski and need to fix it up. once i get it, i'll kow what i have to work with. check out my post in the driveline section.

I think right now most of the boat is stock, maybe i am wrong on that. i would love to add a pipe to it, tho cost might be an issue.
