Can you cover up the hole in the 550 hood? Will the motor still breath fine?

Because my buddie likes doing subs and has not done a bildge yet.... so we were wondering if the motor would still run.. do you know?

How modded is it? It would probably be fine if it was close to stock. Try stuffing a rag in the hole and taping over it and see if it runs.

It is not very modded what so ever. And its a single carb. So we should be fine

seems like a few have run the hood modded like you want w/no probs.

If you fill the top front hole I would bore some more holes up on the very front and on the very back.

i agree i would add some holes in the back of the hood. just beacuse it runs doesnt mean its right. i think it would starve for air a bit

dont add any holes. fill the top and be done with it
my 94 750 kawasaki has 2 holes in the hood stock and thats it. and it runs fine
a 440/550 has 9 holes excluding the big one on the top.
The ski will still run with just 1 thumb sized hole in the hood.
