300/440/550 550 engine assembly Q (piston arrows)

Which way is the arrows on the top of the pistons suppose to point?
I think they point to the exhaust manifold.

Anyone?

Arrows point to the exhaust port, 99.9 % of the time the ring pin locators are on the intake side of the cylinder also. (Kawasaki Mach I 500 has one ring pin beside the exhaust port!)
