300/440/550 550/750 conversion

trying to put a 750 engine in a 550 hull, wondering if anyone has done this, and what pump driveshaft combination is used. I hear that the 550 pump can't handle the power of a 750 so I figured putting a 650 pump in would work better. Problem is then glassing the pump in and lining up a 650 drive shaft. Any ideas or threads from other skis would be a help.

There is tons of different build threads out there involving pumps. A 550 pump can handle the 750 with a tall impeller but you dont want to get carried away with horse power. If your looking at dropping in a full mod 750 then you should start thinking about glassing in a pump tunnel from either a 650 or 750.
If your just gonna drop in a pretty much stock 750 with a west coast pipe then just use a 550 pump with high pitched prop. It will still be a fun, powerfull ski.
