3M 5200 on the e-box. Thumbs up or down?

I installed a new MSD coil and the plug wires are 8.5mm. The boots that seal the box just don't fit around the larger wires. I opened them up a little bit, but it's just not going to seal well this way. Can I put a little 5200 there? Maybe just some silicone?

I wouldn't use the 5200 just use some silicone .

silicone works good and is less, umm, permanent?

1211 is better than regular silicone because you can easily rub off the stuff if/when it comes time to re-seal again. I've used it before like this with great success.

Try not to get silicone inside the box before you close it up.

Hmm. Interesting.

Whatever I use I don't need much, and it will be on the outside of the box.

try some waterproof grease.

I find it strange that MSD would make a coil to improve your system and at the same time compromise the watertightness of your e-box by making the wires bigger .Not well thought out or not originally for PWC use .

Agreed. Oh well. I bought it new from Blowsion. I don't ask questions, I just install.

Ive been using a thick black grease with alot of sucess
