300/440/550 300 sx stator + 440 stator the same?

I have a kid in my neighborhood who has a 440 I am trying to fix.

Can I put a stator from my 300 sx in his 440 ? Thanks

thanks, got a response over on pwctoday too. sorry for the noob question, but i've never had a 440 / 550 and wasn't sure. went from the 300sx -->650 sx -->SJ --> Fx-1
