After being out of the sport for a couple years I'm making a comeback, and it can't happen fast enough! I am looking to buy an 09 SJ, and have been reading about the steering cable issues with after market steering. So what are the fixes for this? Is simply buying a a pre '08 Steering cable suffient to fix this problem? Or Blowsions after market steering cable. Or does one have to purchase a different pole like some have Mentioned.

1. Change the pole to a pre 08 pole and the steering cable.
2. There is a guy here that has come up with a new steering plate that corrects the short through of the stock cable that is suppose to work really well. Sorry, cannot remember who it is. Try searching.
