2000 YZ Pipe Problems

I have a 2000 YZ 250, about 5 years ago I put a FMF Fatty and since I did that, the front mount and the mount at the back of the pipe by the silencer did not line up quite right.

At the time, I thought that it was just me, but 2 weekends ago I looked down to see antifreeze leaking from the water pump hose. The pipe mounts had broken and when I laid it over climbing a hill, the pipe moved down pinching the hose.

I ordered the new mounts and the hose to fix it, when I went to put the front mount on, there was about a 1 inch gap between the pipe mount and the rubber mount off of the frame, way worse than the first time that I installed the pipe.

Any suggestions?

BTW, one spring will hold the whole pipe on with no bolts at all, it just moves a little bit.

Get a new pipe!! 5 years ago!!! DAYUM!! How one earth can you make a 2 smoke pipe last that long? I'd go through at least 2 a year!! Those things bend like aluminum foil. If you don't want to get a new pipe, build a jig to hold yours and bend it to the shape you need it.:woot:

There is only one dent in it, I posted pictures of it when it happened a long time ago but have not got it fixed yet.

Like i said, it didn't fit right when I bought and installed it the first time, should I just make a spacer to fill the gap?

How in the world do you go through so many pipes in a year, kinda hard on equipment aint ya brutha?

Well, I seem to wreck quite often, but just not at high speeds like you racers do, I just climb hills.

Trust me when I say that it is WFO most of the time!

well if it has never lined up right should have called up fmf and have them dealt with it. I had a problem with one of my yz250F pipes and they fixed it for me at no charge. give them a call maybe they'll hook you up.
